the costs of therapy need to be examined in relation to the costs of not having therapy, in terms of your emotional state, physical health, relationships and productivity.  All involve real monetary costs as well as avoidable  stress. As an independent practitioner I am more able to be flexible with appointment times, avoiding disruption to working lives and children's school attendance.

My fee structure is as follows (standard sessions are based on just under an hour):

INDIVIDUALS: £70  1½ hour session: £85

COUPLES: £80  1½ hour session: £95

FAMILIES: £90  1½ hour session: £1050

Initial sessions for couples and families are usually 1½ hours.

Weekend sessions or home visits can be arranged where necessary, and my fee will vary according to what is required. Similarly, if formal reports are required, this will be on a negotiated basis.

I don't want fees to be a barrier to getting the help you need, so I can offer reduced fees under certain circumstances. I will also try to be helpful should your financial circumstances change midway through therapy.

Work referred by statutory bodies is negotiated on a case-by-case basis and takes account of necessary meetings, associated paperwork and any report-writing required. This applies also to cases where legal issues such as contact with children following divorce are involved.

payment methods

I request payment for initial sessions at the time the meeting is booked. Subsequently sessions maybe paid for at the time in cash, or in advance via Paypal, or by BACS transfer using the following details:

A/c Name: AbFam A/c No: 56083722 Sort Code: 09-01-28 Bank Address: Santander Bank Bridle Road Bootle L30 4GB

I think it is best for both parties that payment is kept clear and uncomplicated and does not invade the space we have made for other purposes.

I may be able to offer Skype or Zoom counselling if you are unable to get to sessions.
